Fence Laborer

Freedom Valley Fence is hiring for our fence installation crews. Applicant will work on a fence crew and install various styles of fencing including chain link, vinyl, wood, and aluminum. We are looking for fence installers with a strong commitment to quality, a high level of motivation, and looking to grow within the Company. Applicants must enjoy physical labor (hard physical labor) and have a passion for working outside and doing something a little bit different every day. Our fence installers work approximately nine months per year.
Duties and Responsibilities:

All Applicants should have the ability to work safely and follow direction. Experience in construction/fence installation a plus.

MUST be punctual, arrive to work on time, be dependable, and have own transportation.

Be able to work in a team environment where situations and demands change daily.

Basic understanding of measurements and tools. Must be capable of aligning wood, vinyl, and steel posts with string lines and levels to verify vertical alignment of posts.

Must be capable to measure and lay out fence lines and mark posthole positions, following instructions, drawings, and specifications.

Must be physically fit and able to perform strenuous manual labor required to complete each project.

Must be able to work as a team, and able to lift 50 pounds.

Ability to perform heavy physical labor.

Able to perform fence installation and setting posts as indicated by plans/directions.

Responsible for project site cleanup.

Clean and load truck daily.
-
Load all equipment and components onto truck daily.
-
Set fence under the guidance of crew foreman.
-
Daily cleanup of site and final check for equipment and materials.
-
Essential for performance (including safety) are eye-hand coordination, ability to speak and hear and distinguish colors.

Self-motivation and direction, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.

Enjoys working hard in an environment where you hand excavate, lift, and move items and on your feet most of the day.

This position requires the ability to comprehend specific directions to ensure safe and O.S.H.A.-compliant practices and compliant construction and services, training will be provided if needed.

You must be responsible (good track record of coming to work on time).

Willing to learn.
Qualifications:

Valid U.S. Driver’s License
-
High School Diploma
-
Construction experience preferred
-
General knowledge of power tools
Working Conditions:
-
Working conditions vary by job and day. This is a full-time position with regular hours between 7:30am – 4:30pm Monday - Friday, but overtime is very often required and occasionally work on Saturday is necessary to complete jobs.

An ability to tolerate work in all sorts of environments, conditions, weather, and seasons is a must.

Physical requirements:

Ability to lift up to 100 pounds

Repetitive motions including turning of head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching overhead and flexing arms, legs, wrists, and fingers.

Good coordination

Operating a wheelbarrow with loads up to 250 pounds

Walking extended distances in a variety of terrain
